Hey this is Skwirl here to gab at you briefly about the records we have coming for this year’s thematic cluster! The theme is Nostalgic Wavs and each record has been linked to a concept under the rather large umbrella of nostalgia as a function of emotional attachment to memory.

Our first record in the cluster is Sciuridae: a self titled record at the nexus between Skwirl and my ambient Shīdo moniker. They are tracks crafted at the periphery of sessions - often in a hypnagogic state - and both like and slightly unlike either moniker. It is our “Kairosclerosis” record.

Kairosclerosis is the conscious realisation of happiness or bliss, which in turn inspires the mind to wish to truly live in the moment - to savour it - and ultimately to feel it ebb away. We’ve categorised it as Restorative, Present Unknowing on our Nostalgic Wavs chart. (See it below)

Sciuridae is the squirrel family of rodent or as Shmuel (Ehye/hoyah) blessedly coined for me, “the familial forms of [Skwirl]”.
